Rossi Captures Second Straight IndyCar Pole Position at Long Beach

Defending race champion Alexander Rossi got off to great start in his quest to win his second straight IndyCar race on the city streets by scoring his second consecutive pole position for Sunday’s feature race at the 45th Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Rossi ran his #27 Andretti Autosport Honda to a best lap of 106.569 mph, ahead of Scott Dixon’s 106.143 in his #9 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda and the 105.941 of Will Power (#12 Team Penske Chevy).

The FIRESTONE FAST SIX was rounded out by Josef Newgarden (#2 Team Penske Chevy, 105.866), Simon Pagenaud (#22 Team Penske Chevy, 105.448) and Graham Rahal (#15 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Honda, 105.264).
