Munoz Captures Firestone Indy Lights Race
Polesitter Carlos Munoz led from flag-to-flag to win the Firestone Indy Lights race at Sunday’s 39th Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
The win was Munoz’ second this year – he also took the checkered flag at Alabama – and the fourth of his career. He also assumes the Indy Lights season points lead.
“ I had a really great car,” Munoz said in Vic tory Circle. “My goal was, first of all, to finish the race. I was not at the limit, but I was pushing myself to stay ahead of Gabby (Sanchez).”
Sanchez and fellow series rookie Sage Karam rounded out the podium.
