HUNTER-REAY CRUISES TO IZOD INDYCAR SERIES WIN

Ryan Hunter-Reay led 64 of 85 laps - relatively unchallenged - and won the 36th Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach IZOD IndyCar  Series race.  It was Hunter-Reay's second series race win and first in 2010.

Hunter-Reay took the checkered flag 5.6031 seconds ahead of runner-up Justin Wilson, with polesitter Will Power filling out the podium.  Scott Dixon was fourth and Tony Kanaan fifth.

Rounding out the top 10 were: Mario Moraes, Helio Castroneves, Ryan Briscoe, Dan Wheldon and Mike Conway.

HINCHCLIFFE VICTORIOUS IN FIRESTONE INDY LIGHTS

Canada's James Hinchcliffe led all 45 race laps from the pole for a convincing win in the Firestone Indy Lights race Sunday.  Charlie Kimball was second, with rookie J. K. Vernay - looking for his third consecutive win -  third. Sebastien Saavedra and Martin Plowman rounded out the top five. 


BRABHAM/PAGENAUD WIN ALMS RACE AT LONG BEACH

David Brabham and Simon Pagenaud steered their LMP-class HPD ARX-01c to an overall victory Saturday in the Tequila Patron American Le Mans Series race, winning by 0.353 seconds over the Lola B09 60 Aston Martin of Adrian Fernandez/Harold Primat.  Gunnar Jeannette/Elton Julian won the LMPC class in their Oreca FLM09, with Joerg Bergmeister/Patrick Long capturing the GT class in a Porsche 911 RSR.  GTC-class honors fell to Butch Leitzinger/Juan Gonzalez in their Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.  


JIMMY VASSER WINS 34th TOYOTA PRO/CELEBRITY RACE

Jimmy Vasser, ex-Champ Car champion and co-owner of the KV Racing Technology IZOD IndyCar team, won the 34th Toyota Pro/Celebrity race Saturday by .645 seconds over fellow pro driver Tanner Foust, the two-time Formula Drift champion.

Brian Austin Green was third, and the highest-finishing celebrity driver.   Pro driver Marty Nothstein was fourth, followed by celebrity drivers Adrien Brody and Zachary Levi.

Will Power claimed his fourth IZOD IndyCar Series win of 2010, taking the Honda Indy Toronto, after overtaking polesitter Justin Wilson on a late-race restart.
