DIXON WINS IN THE TENNESSEE RAIN; TRACY TO RUN EDMONTON

admin | 15 July, 2008 08:56

Scott Dixon won the rain-shortened Firestone Indy 200 at Nashville Superspeedway last weekend, tying an IndyCar series record with his third straight victory at the 1.33-mile oval.

Dixon took the lead on lap 149 and stayed in front until rain ended the race with 29 laps remaining. Ganassi Racing teammate Dan Wheldon was runnerup, with Helio Castroneves third. Tony Kanaan and Danica Patrick rounded out the top five.

The series now heads for the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for Sunday's Honda Indy 200 (ABC, 3 p.m. E.T.).....but the following weekend at Edmonton should prove to be VERY interesting!

Mr. Hard Charger himself - Paul Tracy - will be wheeling the #22 Subway entry from Vision Racing/Walker Racing in the Rexall Edmonton Indy (ESPN, 5 p.m. E.T. July 26), with additional races possible.

"I've been away for a while, but I want to be back in a car," Tracy said. "This is the first step to getting back."

Glad to have you back, P.T.!!!
