THE FEMALE EQUATION
If you've been having trouble convincing your significant female other to accompany you on race weekend, you've got some added ammunition for 2009.
Women won two of the five races at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, while Danica Patrick was winning her first IndyCar Series race in Japan. Danica will be here in 2009, and if Simona De Silvestro has more convincing drives like she did to win Sunday's Imperial Capital Bank Atlantic Series race, she'll be in an IndyCar cockpit here at Long Beach, too.
POETIC JUSTICE
The racing gods had to have a hand in Will Power's win in the Champ Car finale.
Power's boss, Kevin Kalkhoven, is the main guy who busted his butt -- and a goodly portion of his bank account -- to keep the Champ Car Series going since 2004, so it was good to see him with a smile on his face.
And, wouldn't it be something if one of Kalkhoven's KV Racing Technology drivers -- Power or Oriol Servia -- went on to win this year's IndyCar Series?

LIKES AND DISLIKES
Fire away about what you liked -- or didn't like -- about the 34th Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Great weekend of racing in Long Beach, and thanks for the continuing updates, observations and commentary. Good stuff.
